A atriz Portia de Rossi foi escalada para uma participação especial na quinta temporada do drama adulto Nip/Tuck. De acordo com o The Hollywood Reporter, De Rossi terá presença regular no seriado, no papel de uma lésbica, que também é mãe de uma adolescente que deseja fazer uma cirurgia plástica.
O sites americanos, jocosamente, citam que a atriz, conhecida pelas séries Ally McBeal e Arrested Development, não terá muito esforço para se adaptar ao papel. De Rossi é lésbica e namora a comediante Ellen DeGeneres.
