O desenho animado Futurama pode voltar a ser produzido. Segundo notícia publicada esta semana pela Variety, a 20th Century Fox TV estaria estudando a possibilidade de gravar novos episódios da série cômica de sci-fi. O retorno estaria sendo motivado pelo grande volume de vendas dos DVDs de Futurama nos EUA e pelo sucesso recente de Uma Família da Pesada, que também havia sido cancelada pela Fox e voltou com novas temporadas. Futurama é uma criação de Matt Groening, o criador de Os Simpsons, e do roteirista David X. Cohen e teve cinco temporadas produzidas entre 1999 e 2003.
