Foi anunciado este sábado (8/9) os vencedores das categorias técnicas da 59ª edição do Emmy Awards. Não houveram grande surpresa na premiação, que mais uma vez mostrou a vantagem da HBO sobre a concorrência, ao receber 15 estatuetas. A segunda emissora com mais prêmios foi a NBC, com 12.

Surpresa mesmo, segundo a reportagem do weblog TV Squad, foi que finalmente o reality show American Idol ganhou um prêmio – de melhor direção técnica para o especial Idol Gives Back. A premiação também reservou estatuetas para as série elogiadas pela crítica Dexter (duas, de design de título de abertura e edição de série drama), Battlestar Galactica (efeitos visuais) e Friday Night Lights (melhor seleção de elenco).

Como de hábito, a cerimônia técnica costuma anunciar os melhores atores convidados em séries. Este ano a vantagem foi ampla para as séries da NBC. John Goodman foi escolhido o melhor ator convidado em drama por Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip (garantindo uma estatueta para série, que já foi cancelada), Elaine Stritch a melhor atriz convidada em comédia por 30 Rock e Leslie Caron a melhor atriz convidada por Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Stanley Tucci, que este ano estrelou o fracassado drama 3 lbs. e foi contratado para ER, levou a estatueta de ator convidado em comédia por Monk.
